Dorothy Thorpe Allegro Sherbets
Thorpe ran a decorating studio in Los Angeles in the 30s to the 60s. She didn't produce her own glass, but rather, like a number of companies at the time, bought her blanks from a glass company and decorated them for retail. The techniques she used were pretty much limited to sand carving (sand blasting), and silver and platinum. Her decorations were clean, crisp and modern, and at the moment, the most desirable pieces are those simple, modern shapes decorated with a broad band of patinated silver at the rim, a line called commonly "Silver Band", but originally named Allegro by Thorpe.
These are the footed sherberts or desserts in this pattern.
They're 4.25" in diameter and 2.675" tall.
Condition: some light wear/scuffs to the silver, but these are an unusual form that you don't see often,
