An excellent and unusual item in Fostoria' perennial American pattern, this is the "SaniCut" syrup pitcher, which consists of a cube pattern glass bottom (the same piece used for the sugar shaker) and the patented SaniCut lid with a butterscotch Bakelite handle, giving this piece a great Art Deco look.
According to Seligson (it's his #200), this piece was produced between 1939 and 1944, after which Fostoria used a lid supplied by another company.
It's 5" tall, 4.75" across and 3" in diameter at the base.
Condition: glass is fine, no wear or damage, no nick on the points of the cubes. The lid has a couple of spots to the chrome on the domed top, and a bit of wear where the cutting mechanism retracts. The Bakelite handle is fine and undamaged.
