A Beswick earthenware figure of Beatrix Potter's Pig-Wig. It was modeled by Albert Hallam and produced from 1972 until 1982.

This is the second variation with the pig colored black rather than gray, though this example is on the lighter side, very close to the silver-gray of real-life "black" pigs.
This example has backstamp BP-3a, which was only used in 1973 and 1974.
The colors and decoration are excellent, matching Potter's delicate watercolor tones exactly.
It's 3.375" tall and 2.5" wide.
Condition: minute glaze flake on the back of her left ear (see pics), otherwise fine.
Book value is $575 (2000).
