Russel Wright Spun Aluminum Wood Ball Canape Tray

Russel Wright started his design career in the 1930s, manufacturing spun aluminum table and decorative wares in a converted stable in New York City. The items he designed and produced rode the line between Art Deco and Modernism. Wright was one of the first Americans to embrace what was known at the time as "Art Moderne" and which was later called International Modern.

This is the canape tray. It consists of a large, spun-aluminum tray with an aluminum loop handle and a wooden ball in the center.

The tray is 13.75" in diameter and 7.5" tall.

Condition: light wear to the top, heavy wear to the bottom. The varnish has mostly been worn off of the wooden ball.

Mark: stamped RUSSEL WRIGHT.
