Wedgwood Crystal Amethyst Silver Jubilee Goblet

An excellent and unusual Wedgewood Glass goblet. This form was frequently made by the company after Wedgwood acquired the King Lynn Glass. The foot and stem are crystal, the bowl a beautiful amethyst purple. It has an applied punt onto which has been attached a Wedgwood Jasperware cameo. The punt has been faceted and it is surrounded by a wreath cut into the body of the bowl.

This goblet was made (in a limited edition) to mark Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee in 1977. The Lilac cameo shows the official profile portrait of the young queen. The cameo must have been part of a special run, as Lilac was not in regular production in 1970s (it was made in 1960-61 and again in the 1990s)

The goblet is 5" tall, 3.75" in diameter at the mouth and 3.5" at the foot.

Condition: as new, no wear or damage.

Mark: sandblasted "Wedgwood England" mark in the center of the underside of the foot. Large sandblasted mark reading, "Queen's Silver Jubilee 1952-1977 Wedgwood Made in England" toward the edge of the foot.
