A small, round Jasperware box in their Prunus blossom decoration. This decoration pattern was manufactured -briefly- in Primrose yellow with white relief decoration. On this example, the relief decoration is in Terracotta, a red color similar to Rosso Antico.
It appears that this piece (and others like it in the same color combination) were made as prototypes before the actual production run of the Prunus pattern. As with other pieces like it we have handled, it is dated a year earlier (1975) than regular production Prunus pieces.
It's 2.875" in diameter and 1.5" tall.
Condition: two tips of the "spears" in the border decoration on the lid are missing, which is a common issue on all Prunus pieces. Otherwise fine and as new.
Mark: impressed Wedgwood marks.
