An original one-sheet theatrical poster for 1978's Damien: Omen II, the sequel to the wildly successful The Omen. The film starred William Holden, Lee Grant and Leo McKern.
The poster is quite simple and effective: a black raven with blood on its wings against a white background with the title in red and the tagline: "The first time it was only a warning."
Condition: a little light soiling to the bottom two panels (these posters were stored folded so that the film title in the bottom margin could be read) otherwise fine.
This poster (along with many others we are offering) came from the same source: the Erlen Theater here in Philadelphia. The theater was between 18th and 19th on Cheltenham Avenue, at the edge of the city. It opened in 1930 and closed as a theater in 1984. It was a single-screen movie palace (one of the last built in the city) seating 1700 and built in the modern style. At the end of its life -the period from which these posters date- it apparently was hanging on on a steady diet of action/adventure, horror and kung-fu movies.
