A Torquay mottoware teapot manufactured in England in the 1920's or 1930's. This pot is made of rough redware (terracotta) clay like all Torquay ware. It is decorated with a band of cream-colored slip with a sgraffito motto, which runs around the top. The motto reads, "Take Your Wull o'the Tea". The entire teapot is covered in clear glaze, inside and out.
The pot is 9.5" from handle to spout and 5" tall.
Condition: flake chip to the inner edge of the spout. Two flake chips to the interior of the lid. Clear glaze is crazed.
