A fine, large vase by Fostoria Glass in crystal and Regal Blue (Fostoria's name for cobalt), which was made in this color between 1934 and 1942. The vase was Fostoria shape number 2470, which has a bell-shaped body and a wave-form, three-toed stem. The stem design strongly points towards George Sakier as the designer, and the overall design falls somewhere between Art Deco and "Hollywood Regency", like so many of his designs.
The vase is 9.5" tall, 4.75" in diameter at the top and 4.125" at the bottom.
Condition: 0.5" long chip to the edge of the foot, the edges of which have been polished and a 1" scratch to the side of the vase. Otherwise fine no other chips damages or repairs.
