Wedgwood & Co Venus Transferware Tea Bowl & Saucer
A blue transfer-printed tea bowl and saucer in the Venus pattern by Wedgwood & Company. This pottery was originally known as Podmore Walker & Co when it introduced this pattern. The name change came in 1860, which makes this piece fairly late for the this style of handleless cup.

The cup is 3.75" tall and 3.25" in diameter at the mouth. The saucer is 5.875" in diameter and quite deep, as the original intention was that the contents of the cup could be poured out into the saucer to cool.
Marked on the bottom with the Wedgwood & Co garter mark with the pattern name in the center.
Condition: there are some bits of ash in the glaze. There are also fat stains in the rim of the saucer.
