A fine Mid-Century Modern vase by Sweden's Orrefors Glass Works. This piece was designed by Sven Palmqvist.
Overall, it is a teardrop which has been cut into four flat panels. One of these panels is decorated with an engraved image or a butterfly and two stylized flowers.
It is 7" tall.
Condition: one pinpoint nick on the edge of one panel, light wear to the polished bottom. Otherwise fine.
Mark: signed twice: marked in the center of the bottom "Orrefors PA 2675" and at the edge "of.PA.2675.63".
The "P" indicates designer Sven Palmquist, who worked for Orrefors from 1923 to 1971 (though some of his designs are still in production). The "A" indicates that the piece is cut glass.
Reference: this vase is illustrated on page 110 of Vogier & Pina's "Smoke & Ice" in the photo in the lower left-hand corner of the page.
