A fine Wedgewood upright shape jug or pitcher in black basalt with black relief decoration in the "Sacrifice figures" design. Wedgwood produced this shape in a large number of sizes, of which this is the next to the largest I have seen in Basalt.
Marked WEDGWOOD only, which dates this piece to before 1891, most likely from the 1880's. It's a #24 size. Interior is glazed.
This pitcher is 6" tall and 4.75" from handle to spout.
Condition: light wear to bottom edge, otherwise fine.
