Murano Bullicante Sommerso Pear Bookends

Here's a fine pair of bookends: they're vintage Murano glass, made in the 1960's or 1970's. They're in the shape of pears, which is interesting as these sets usually consist of one pear and one apple, The they're hand-formed and hollow, but quite heavy. The glass has bullicante (controlled bubbles) in a fine grid pattern with aventurine (gold foil) inclusions. They are of crystal glass which contains the bullicante and aventurine over a warm, peachy amber (sommerso). The applied leaves and stems are dark green transparent glass. They are -all Murano glass not being equal- high quality but not exceptional.

One is 7" tall, the other 6.75".

Condition: there are a couple of light scratches on the polished bottoms, as the previous owner had felt glued to them which protected them. The edge of the polished surface of one of them is slightly rough in a spot from the grinding process.
