Fresh from the Chicago area is this incredible 1914 hand painted "Red Currant" Tankard decorated by the "White's Art Co." of Chicago on an Limoges B & Co. France blank.
The beautiful Tankard, which measures 12-1/2" tall, has been decorated on a fancy 6-sided Limoges Tankard mold. All six  panels have been extensively decorated displaying the main topic of "Red Currants". Heavy gold through out the decor and a gilded cobalt base add greatly to its beauty.
The Tankard was decorated by the Chicago Studio; "White's Art Co". The Studio was in business from 1914--1923. During the era it produced hand painted wares that matched the great studios of the day including Pickard, Brauer, Donath, Osborne, and Stouffer. The Studio, which was run by the White's family, had their studio in downtown Chicago at 201 Ontario Street. The Tankard is in excellent condition and totally damaged free. There is only very minor gilding wear.
The Tankard displays the traditional White's Red Triangle mark which states: "WHITE'S ART CO. CHICAGO HAND PAINTED"
The gorgeous tankards with its appealing colors and heavy gold gilding displays exceptionally well and will make a nice addition for your collection.
