This is an outstanding vintage example of an early 1900's hand painted Scenic Limoges Charger.
This incredible beauty measures 12-1/2" wide and displays a high seas drama rescue scene of a Sailor pulling a Nude from a hostile ocean storm. The hand painted Charger wonderfully captures the event, as though you were there. The presentation, the unusual topic, the quality of the artwork, and the wonderful use of colors are all there.
The Charger is in excellent condition and the fancy gilded mold, with its heavy gold is near pristine. The Charger displays two early Limoges, France marks and has been decorated and signed by probably the most noted of all French Artist, "Dubois".
The Charger will be a show piece where ever she is displayed.
Please feel free to ask questions.
Also Check out my other "Nude" Charger by Dubois at: LA 001007, which was also decorated on the same fancy mold.
