This is a fine example of an early 20-30's unmarked Chicago Studio Decorated Floral Plate. This beauty came out of the Chicago area along with several other vintage hand painted Violet pieces by the Chicago Artist "Osborne" [see Reed's Pickard Collectors Book for extensive coverage and bio on "Osborne". The Plate measures 9-5/8" wide has been expertly decorated with large life like "Violets" on stem and leaf against a background that includes shadow leafing, creme, creme green, several shades of creme blue, and several shades of creme yellow. The outside rim has been gilded adding to its overall beauty. Much of the Plate has been decorated and she shows extremely well in mixed settings. She is totally free of nicks, chips or cracks. She matches similar Osborne pieces that came with this piece
