Mrs. George Brown, like many early 1900's Chicago Artist, decorated and sold her beautiful hand painted to support her family. Her beautiful artwork competed with the great Chicago Studios of the day including Pickard, Brauer, Donath, Stouffer, and Osborne. Mrs. Brown ran her Decorating China Studio in Chicago from 1906-1908.
This is a nice early example, by the Brown Studio, of a hand painted, vintage 1900's, Vienna Austria Hand Painted 2-Handle Tray. The 2-Handle Floral Tray measures 7-1/2" and displays "Wild Pink Roses" on stem and leaf against background colors of crème and crème pink. A fancy hand painted fire gold scroll acting as a border between the colors and a gilded outer rim adds great beauty to the Tray.
The Roses Tray is in very good and free of nicks, chips, cracks, or other damage.
The beautiful Wild Roses Tray displays an early "Vienna Austria" mark and has been signed in gold, "Brown".
The attractive Roses Tray is perfect for a bath, vanity, or dresser.
