Hundreds of years ago the Celtic tradition of creating and gifting wedding Goblets to the newly weds was a sign of future good fortunes. When the bride and groom toast each other from the same Goblet on their wedding day, the symbolizing strength, unity, & eternity, invoke a very powerful bond for the happy couple's future together.
In that tradition was created some of the finest porcelain creations ever to be made. This is a fine early 1900's example, by Belleek, honoring that long ago custom. The beautiful hand painted Goblet measures a tall 11" and the cup part measures a robust 17" around. The gorgeous goblet has been expertly decorated on all sides, including the stem and 5-1/4" base, with large and life like Blackberries, signifying a successful Fall Harvest. The Goblet's Blackberries are set against both summer & fall colored leaves with soft background colors of creme, creme blue, creme brown, & creme burnt orange. The artist has used a wonderful Irish green outlined in a fancy raised applied gilded gold to accent and add to the beauty of the Goblet. The total life-like presentation, expert art quality, and wonderful use of colors have all come together is this beautiful creation.
The hand painted Blackberry Goblet is in excellent condition and totally damage free of nicks, chips, cracks, or other damage.
The Blackberry Goblet displays an early "Belleek" brown mark.
The beautiful Belleek Goblet is one of the nicest I have ever seen, displays exceptionally well....and will make a wonderful addition for your home or collection.
