Black Americana, German Printed, 1909 Valentine Post Card Entitled "A Darktown Trip"

Wonderfully decorated is this vintage 1909 Black Americana, German Printed, Valentine Card entitled, "A Darktown Trip". The Valentine Card scene was taken from a 1906 Painting. The Post Card shows a "FEB 12 7 PM 1909 PORTLAND, ME" stamp with a cancelled 1 cent Ben Franklin stamp. Yes, this was sent 103+ years ago as a Valentine Card.

The colorful Post Card, which is entitled, "A Darktown Trip" says "Oh come wid me in ma automobeel, We'll go whar de woodbines wine: Yo kin mae ma be an kin cook ma meal, An' be ma Valentine".

The Post Card is in very good condition and has no rips, tears, or missing corners with one corner showing a crease. The Post Card measures 5-1/2" X 3-3/4".

In small print, on the front of the card, reads: "From PAINTING COPYRIGHT 1906 BY THE INTERNATIONAL ART PUB.Co. NEW YORK" On the backside it shows the addressee and "International Art Pub. Co. Series 701. New York" and "PRINTED IN GERMANY".

The unusual Black Americana Post Card will make a nice addition for your collection.
