Extra Nice Bavaria 1900's Hand Painted "Yellow Tulips" 8-1/4" Plate by Pickard Artist, "Luken"

Minnie Luken was a well known and listed artist during the Golden Era at the height of Chicago's Porcelain decorating craze. Luken originally opened up her own Decorating Studio, the Luken Art Studios, in 1895, about the time that Wilder Pickard was laying the ground work for his world class Pickard Decorating Studio. In 1912, Ms. Luken worked for the Pickard Studio producing many floral designs. Luken ran her Studio at several Chicago sites from 1895--1926. She is well known for her floral creations, including Roses. A more in-depth bio of Minnie Luken can be found in Alan Reed's Pickard Collectors Book.

Recently, in an upscale estate in north central Illinois a small collection of near pristine Minnie Luken pieces came to light. From that Estate Collection is this superb example of Minnie Luken's fine artwork.

This is a fine early 1900's unmarked Bavaria hand painted Floral Plate measuring 8-1/4" wide. The beautiful Plate has been decorated with large and vibrant "Yellow Tulips" on stem and leaf against a creme and creme green decor background.

The hand painted Plate is in very good condition and totally damage free of nicks, chips, cracks, or other damage with light wear.
