Vintage 1900's Bavaria Hand Painted "Deep Violets" 8-1/4" Plate by the Artist, "H.M."

The beautiful Plate, which measures 8-1/4" wide, has been superbly decorated with life-like and extremely well deep colored "Violets" on stem and leaf against soft background colors soft creme lavender, creme blue, and a hint of soft creme burnt orange. A heavy gilded gold rim adds to the beauty of the Plate, as does the shadow leafing.

The Plate is in excellent condition and totally damage free.

The Plate is marked "J & C Bavaria" and signed "H.M." I suspect, since the Plate came out of the Chicago area that it was decorated by Henry Marmorstein, who operated the Marmorstein's Art Decorating Studio in Chicago from 1909--1931.
