Gorgeous Vintage 1914 Limoges France Hand Painted " Fall Corn " 4 Pc Smoke Set by the Studio Artist, "Frederick Cross"

This beautiful niche Set was perfect for the growing U.S. smoking market during the early part of the 19th Century. It was a badge of wealth to be able to smoke find cigars or cigarettes, as gentlemen often did. This beautiful 4 Pc Set includes a matching Tray [12-3/4" X 9-3/8"], a Waste Container [3" tall], and a Cigarette Container w/lid [5" tall]. All pieces have been exceptionally decorated with a "Fall Corn" theme with wonderful Fall colors of a burnt orange/brown and creme yellow decor with hints of creme, creme lavender, and creme burnt orange/brown as background. Please note the high and realistic quality of the Artist's creation. It doesn't get much better than this! The Artist has used a fancy tray with a ribbed outer rim which has been heavily gilded in gold. Heavy gold accenting was the popular trend at the time and this Set, including the matched pieces reflects the trend. The heavy gold gilding of all four pieces adds richness to the matched Set.

The Set is in excellent condition and totally damage free with some light gold wear.

The Tray displays an early "Limoges France" mark and has been prominently signed by the Artist, "F.R.Cross".

The Set was originally found some 15 years ago in the Chicago area and has graced the top of my Book Cabinet these many years. Terribly hard to find complete Sets now days, this exceptional presentation will make an excellent addition or display piece for your collection.
