A lovely Victorian period paper mache' tray with cyma curved edge, finely hand painted with a romantic landscape of floral sprays and classical ruins on a gilded ground with a scroll and floral border. England, circa 1850
13 in. diameter 1 in. deep.
Condition: Very good. There is some allover crazing quite normal for this material and period. There are some minor touch up repairs to the gilded line on the edges and two depressed areas on the top rim which have been painted in. The tray displays beautifully.
