Offered for sale are Five Wall Street Stock Market Pamphlets from the 1920's-40's by Jacquelin & DeCoppet, Yacki Raizizun, and Stephen Gargilis. With the Stock Market Crash of 1929 and the Great Dust Bowl, the country found itself in a great depression effecting both the rich and poor. It wasn't till the outbreak of WWII that our nation was finally on the road to recovery with millions of jobs being created to help our Armed Forces win the war. Below is a description each of the Five Pamphlets and their condition:
1.)Odd Lot Dealing written by Jacquelin & DeCoppet, 47 Broad Street, New York City, printed in 1937. The booklet has 32 pages with fantastic black and white photos of people working on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. There are 5 chapters dealing with odd lot orders, mechanics of the ticker, New York Stock Exchange quotation service and commission rates, Rules on "Ten Share Unit Stocks", and Federal and State Tax Rates. **Condition: The front and back covers are in fair condition. The inside pages are in very good condition.*Covers: There is surface wear to the cover, wear to the spine, crease marks to the top and bottom right front corners and the top and bottom left back corners, and dark tan stain spots on the top right quarter of the back cover.*Inside pages: There are tiny crease marks at the top and bottom right corners of the first seven inside pages.
2.)The Psychology of Success by Yacki Raizizun, copyrighted in 1924 by Yacki Raizizun and published by Occult Research Society of Chicago, Illinois. There are 31 pages which are broken down into four sections--Concentration, Know Thyself, Fear, and Silence. Yacki also published pamphlets titled, "Your Personal Forces and How to Develop Them", "The Secrets of Dreams", and "Occult and Drugless Therapeutics". **Condition: The cover is in good condition. The inside pages are in good- condition. *Covers: There is wear to the front and back covers, light wear to the spine, four off-white dots on front cover, tiny crease mark at the bottom right front corner and the bottom left back corner.*Inside Pages: There are words and lines written in red and black pencil on 14 inside pages, a tiny crease mark at either the top or the bottom right corner of almost all of the inside pages. Most of the inside pages are lightly soiled at the bottom right corner.
3.)How to Buy and Sell. . .Securities At A Profit by Stephen Gargilis, copyrighted in 1946 and printed in the U.S.A. The booklet has 20 pages in easy to understand language. It was written in an attempt to eliminate guesswork and gambling, hunches, hopes, chance suggestions, and overheard conversations in hopes anyone could make money.**Condition: The front and back covers are in good- condition. The inside pages are in good condition.*Covers: There is surface wear and light soiling to the front and back covers; crease mark at the top and bottom right front corners, an tiny indentation near the bottom right front corner, soiling along the top, left and bottom edges of the back cover, and light wear along the spine. *Inside pages: There is one page with red check marks in pencil on it, and one page with red and blue pencil lines on it. There are 15 pages with one to a few light gray finger prints on them.
4.)Buying and Selling Signals by Stephen Gargilis, copyrighted in 1946 by Gargilis, and printed in the United States. The booklet has 16 pages and is written "for the man or woman who wants to invest as safely and as conservatively, yet as profitably, as possible".**Condition: The front and back covers and the inside pages are all in very good condition.
5.)How to Use. . .The Sensitive Index by Stephen Gargilis, copyrighted in 1947 by Gargilis, and made in the United States. This is a revision of No. 3--"How To Buy and Sell Securities at a Profit." "This book is dedicated to investors who believe there is a sound, tested way to tell what lies ahead in the stock market." It also presents such a plan for your consideration--a logical plan--in hopes that the next 16 years the history of the stock market will be fantastic. The pamphlet has 32 pages filled with charts and facts.**Condition: The front and back covers are in fair condition. The inside pages are in very good condition.*Covers: There are two pieces of tape near the middle of the right edge of the front cover and near the middle of the inside edge of the front cover. There is light wear to the front and back covers; wear to the spine, a 1" tear at the bottom of the spine, a ¼" tear at the bottom of the spine, a tear at each of the staples of the spine, a small crease mark at the top left and right front corners, a tiny crease mark at the top left and right back corners, and a tiny crease mark at the bottom right back corner.*Inside pages: There are 23 pages with one to a few light gray finger prints on them and a crease mark at the bottom right corner of one of the inside pages.
These five pamphlets give you a glimpse of how these three men attempted to bring the trust back in the Stock Market for everyone, either rich or poor, and give them a chance to make some money.
