Offered for sale is this large Occupied Japan Toby Mug which features an old gentleman winking his one eye with a frown on his face. The old man is a rather rugged gentleman with black and gray hair, mustache, and beard, a scrunched up nose, and a squirrel for a handle. How neat!
The mug stands 5" high, 3¼" across the top of the mug, about 5½" from the tip of the gentleman's nose to the squirrel handle, and 3½" across the bottom of the mug. On the bottom of the mug under the glaze are the words Handpainted, Made in Occupied Japan, with a Shield with leaves around it.
**Condition: Very Good Condition, very clean and bright. The Mug has age cracks on the surface and normal surface wear on the bottom of the mug.
Even though this Gentleman has a frown on his face, one look at him and you will smile. A very nice gift for someone who collects Toby Mugs and Occupied Japan Knick Knacks. Also a great conversation piece for on a coffee table or an end table.
