With the outbreak of WWII, publishers all across the country were producing all kinds of mystery and adventure fiction and non-fiction books about WWII. Today I'm offering for sale from the Philadelphia Inquirer's Sunday Newspaper dated April 26, 1942, a complete novel, Wild Harvest. It was written by Vingie E. Roe and Illustrated by Miriam Troop. This novel is complete and is 19 pages long.
These novels were written especially for the Inquirer during WWII and most were war related while others were romance novels or action packed westerns. The novels became so popular that Sunday's circulation jumped dramatically along with the newspapers profits. Most newspapers would complete a novel over 2 to 3 Sundays. Finding a complete novel is almost impossible and that's why this novel is so highly collectable.
**Condition: The front and back cover is in very good condition, very clean and bright. The inside pages are in good condition, very clean and bright.
Front and Back Covers: There are tiny tears, and a 1" long, a 2" long, and a 3" long tear along the folded edge. There is minor chipping along the right edge of the front cover, and minor chipping along the left and bottom edges of the back cover.
Inside Pages: There are two 1/8" tears along the right edge of Page 3, 5, 7, and 17, minor chipping along the right edges of Page 9, 11, 13, and 15, minor chipping along the bottom edge of Page 11 and 13, and a tiny piece missing from the top right corner of Page 9, 11, and 13.
These novels are very well written and would make a great gift for an avid reader and/or a collector of WWII Memorabilia.
