Offered for sale is a Vintage Postcard with a Lady Carpenter dated 1910 and Four Vintage Postcards with a Lady Baker dated 1911.
*The first postcard is copyrighted 1910 by F. Bluh. This postcard reads: "If You're On The Square—Why So Am I". This photo postcard has a lovely young lady carpenter sitting on a work bench holding a T-Square and wearing work clothes and black nylon stockings. Some work outfit! The edges around the photo are raised and look like an off-white stone wall. The back of the card has no postmark but is dated 5/26/1910 along with a written greeting to a friend. This postcard measures 3½" wide x 5½" long.
*Condition of first postcard: Good to very good condition, still clean, bright, and shiny. There is wear and bumps at each of the four corners.
The next four postcards are dated and copyrighted in 1911 by H.I.R. on the front of each postcard. All four postcards show a photo of a lady baker.
**The first two postcards measure 3½" wide x 5 1/2" long. The first one shows a lady baker with a bowl and rolling pin and reads: "Come on now let's cook up something". The second one shows a lady baker with afrying pan and reads: "It's too hot now takes fifteen to cool...come back". The edges around both of these postcards are raised. The backs of each postcard have no postmarks and are not written on. **Condition of first two postcards: Good condition, very clean and bright. All of the corners have bumps and on one of the postcards there is a tear at the bottom right corner of the front of the postcards.
The second two postcards measure 3 6/16" wide x 5 7/16" long. The first one shows a lady baker holding a pie and it reads: "Won't you come and share my pie with me?". The second one shows a lady baker holding a sugar bowl and it reads: "How would you like to be my sugar lump". The edges around both of these postcards are raised. The backs of each postcard have no postmarks. **Condition of second two postcards: Good condition, very clean and bright. All of the corners have bumps. The postcard with the sugar bowl has scribbling in pencil on the back of the postcard.
One can tell by the expressions on these ladies faces that maybe carpentry and baking is not the only thing on their minds! A simply delightful group of postcards to add to any postcard collection.
