French Portrait Hand Painted Porcelain Box c1910
Here is a treasure.A lovely hand painted portrait box of Josephine Bonaparte. The Jeweled Empress sits in her high ruffled lace sleeves. Painting is signed Bolli on the right of her shoulder. The box is glazed in gold.There is a fancy wreath clasp on the front. The hinges and clasp work very well.The portrait measures 2" round.The inside of the box is glazed in a white glaze. The box is in excellent condition with no chips ,cracks or restoration. The gold is still luminous with slight wear.The bottom is marked in blue underglaze Made in France and a pseudo mark. Measures 4" wide by 3" tall by 1 3/4" high.
