19th Century English Water Colour Painting "The Shepherd Boy"
Gorgeous painting rendered on a thick card. Portrays a shepherd boy and his dog whom he is serenading with a flute. The sheep appear in the lower right corner giving the impression that the boy is on a hill overlooking the flock. The colours are in neutral tones with a night effect. The painting is unsigned but has writing on the reverse
The Shepherd Boy after Joshua Reynolds". Content of the
painting is extremely charming. Framed in a solid period oak frame with gold gesso wood trim around the middle of the oak and on the bezel on the inner frame. The matt is newer.
Painting measures 18" long by 14" wide. Oak frame measures 30" tall by 26" wide. Lovely piece.
