Gorgeous miniature water colour of Henriette Van Frankreich. The painting is signed n. Van Dyck, meaning after the original painting. The painting shows the queen in a long white satin gown with long braided hair holding a red rose.She is adorned by pearl earrings and a pearl belt. Detail is quite intricate and detailed. Painting is in excellent condition measuring 3 1/2" wide by 4 1/2" tall. It is rendered on a paper or card. Mounted in an early burly oak and ebony wood frame. Frame measures 8 3/4" tall by 7 1/2" wide. Writing on back states Konigin von England-Henriette van Frankreich" n Van Dyck. Dating mid to late 1800"s Bio Born at Palais du Louvre on Nov 25 1609 she was raised Roman Catholic. Daughter of King Henry IV of France and his second wife Maria de Medici.She was the youngest sister of King Louis XIII. Her father was killed before she was i year old. Her mother was banished from royal court in 1617. She was an unpopular choice of wife for English King Charles Ist, but they were married by proxy May 11 1625, shortly after Charle's accession to the throne. She died at Chateau de Columbes and was buried in the royal tombs at St Denis Basilica near Paris.
