Beautifully painted painting of Madonna and Christ child. The detail in the facial features are articulately composed. Such gentle expressions. The colors are bright and vivid, showing Mary in a maroon robe with a blue cape coat. White veil head wrap. Her hair is in a soft pallet which accents her delicate facial features. The Christ child is wearing a white dress. This painting really gives you the impression that they are looking at you. It is so real in person. I could not find a signature, but done by a masterful artist. Framed in a very large gold gilt wood gesso frame. It shows age wear but has little to no gesso missing. Painting has a small hole that needs to be patched but easily repaired.Craquleur noted on painting with small patch on the back at 12 o clock. Painting measures 25 1/2" wide by 30 1/2"tall. With frame 30" wide by 38" tall. c1840
