Classical European Genre Miniature Painting
The detail in this classical miniature is wonderful. Gouache medium on a natural base is well articulated. From the womans delicate features and attire to the accents and decor of the scene is well appointed. Portrait in the background on a little desk, while the woman decorates with roses on a putti. Convex glass protects the work which measures 2 3/4 by 3 1/2" In a wood gesso gilt frame measuring 6 3/4" by 5 1/4". Painting is in excellent condition. Frame has age grime and normal wear.Signed lower right corner in black J. Law
