Here is a wonderful old crib quilt or cover from the late 1800s. This was bought years ago at an old Mennonite farm sale in Lancaster Co. Pa. If you love the old fabrics...especially the browns and blues of the 1800s, you will love this piece! It measures about 42" square and has two uniquely put together sides. I have photographed it so that you can view first one side then the other. The one side is comprised of many many little triangular fabric swatches all sewn together to make 2" squares. Then a wide border of other fabrics was added to it. Many elongated fabric pieces and blocks make up the other side....here you will find a great variety of different patterns, colors, plaids and checks also. This is all hand stitched together and is knotted on one side. The condition is very good but I have found a few faint marks and one pencil eraser sized tear near a corner that could use a few stitches, however these minor flaws are easily forgiven due to the overall uniqueness of this antique textile. This will look lovely hanging as wall art...and you can reverse it from time to time for a totally different look! A great gift idea for the serious collector of wonderful old textiles!! Do not let this one get away...you will love it!
