This is an antique chocolate glass plate made by McKee Bros in the very early 1900's. The pattern is called "Serenade" and depicts a troubadour playing the lute for his lady. This is the smaller version of the plate, and is 6 1/4" in diameter. It has several very small (1-2 mm) nicks along the rim, but no serious chips or missing scallops. These plates have very sharp scalloped edges and are nearly impossible to find without some minor damage. This one is really better than average, and displays very nicely. The pressed pattern is very strongly molded with nice detail.
