Robert Burns, Metal Snuff Box, Victorian

This is a very interesting box, round, which I think, because of the tight fitting, must have been intended as a snuff box. It is plated over what looks like copper, and the figure of the celebrated Scottish poet, Robert Burns, is impressed on the top, along with his name. It is in very good condition. There is some wear to the plating. Some of the copper shows through on the top, and the edges of the bottom are worn. All of this shows in the pictures. This really doesn't detract from the piece but, instead, adds patina. The box is 2 and 3/4 inches in diameter, and about 3/4 of an inch deep. This is a great item for either box, or Burns collectors.
