This is a great, early silver magnifying glass; this isn't one of the ones we all see which have been made from an old knife handle; this one is all original from the handle to the rim . I'm not sure whether the glass is original or not; it it clear, and you can see through it well, so this piece is useful as well as decorative. Both the handle and the rim are sterling, though I can't find a mark. The piece measures 6 and 1/2 inches long, and 3 and 1/4 inches wide across the glass. It is circa 1895, and there is no damage to this great piece.
