This is the only matching set of silver toast racks I have seen. Many people use them to put letters in and that is fine, but they were originally intended for toast, and the English stand toast up in toast racks today. I would imagine one would put one of these on each side of the breakfast table. They appear Gothic in design, and are in perfect condition. Their hallmarks declare them to be British Silver, made in Birmingham, in the year 1901, by the maker MNW. They measure 3 and 3/4 inches tall, and 4 and 3/8 inches wide. They sit on four little bun feet, and have four slots for four pieces of toast.
