Victorian Snuff Box, Faux Tortoise

This is a Victorian Snuff Box, circa 1890, which is paper mache, I think. It has a heavily lacquered finish on the bottom and sides, and has a painted, faux tortoise, finish on the front. The box measures 2 and 1/2 inches East to West, and a little over 1 and 1/2 inches North to South. It is in excellent condition, and one which is quite unusual. Please excuse the flash glare.
