Portrait Miniature, Lady, Oil on Canvas, Victorian
What an arresting lady this is, and the artist has captured her vividly. This is a portrait miniature, oil on canvas, of a lovely lady, which reminds me of those ladies painted by the Pre-Raphaelites. The painting is in excellent condition with no damage or paint loss, and she is in what appears to be her original silver (hallmarked sterling) frame. The frame is Birmingham, but i will have to add the date later, as I don't have my hallmarking book with me. Framed, the piece measures 4 and 1/2 inches North to South, and 3 and 1/4 inches East to West. I normally buy miniatures earlier than this circa 1890's piece, but this one is so beautiful, I had to have her the moment I saw her.
