Cut Steel Buckle Set, Bracelet, Choker, Georgian
What a clever way to display these wonderful, Georgian, cut steel buckles. if you make a brooch of them, you destroy part of their integrity, but this way, they can be worn and are completely original. i bought these from my English dealer friend, and she "made" the blue choker by slipping the buckle through the velvet ribbon, and sewing in the decorative grips and adding snaps for closure. When it came to making the bracelet, she used one of the available and lovely black watch bands. Therefore, the bracelet has a black band, and the choker navy. Both pieces are adjustable as to size. The buckles are circa 1800, and in excellent condition. If one wants to remove the buckles from the ribbon, all that has to be done is to slide them off.
