This is a nice Georgian (1820) loupe, composed of a tortoiseshell case, with two lens. The lens are clear and magnify, and the piece is in excellent condition save one little bite in the side of the tortoise. It shows more in the photo than it does to the naked eye, because when the lens are inside the case, the little nobs for lifting the lens out in there and therefore the "bite" doesn't show very much. The lens can be attached to a ribbon. Closed it measures 1 and 3/4 inches North to South, and 1 inch East to West.
