Silver Playing Card box, Victorian, Two packs of Cards
This is a unique and elegant card box. It hold two packs of cards, one with blue back, and one with red. I did not take them all out to count them, because they fit in there so tightly, I was afraid I'd damage some when I took them out to photograph. I believe they are all there though. This is a repousse silver box, in beautiful condition. The top is hinged, and fits very tightly. The box stands 3 and 1/8 inches tall, and is 2 inches wide. The hallmarks are clear, and declare that this piece is British Sterling, minted in Birmingham, in 1873. What a perfect gift for the card player who has everything!
