This is a very nice sized sterling silver picture frame. It is in excellent condition with original leather back. Believe me, when one starts collecting these lovely old silver frames, one is ruined for modern ones! The dealer from whom I purchased this frame has marked it Birmingham, 1899, so I'm sure it is, but right now, the hallmarks are hidden in the silver swirls. The frame is art nouveau in appearance, and full of vines and leaves. It is larger than many of the old frames I get, and it measures 8 inches North to South, and 5 inches East to West. The opening of the picture measures 5 inches North to South, and 3 and 1/2 inches East to West. The frame does have an easel on the back, but it is missing the silk cord to keep it from going all the way back. It will stand if it isn't pushed. Another ribbon could easily be added if needed.
