This is a very pretty circa 1860 ring. It has a pale aquamarine in the center, two almandine garnets on either side of the aquamarine , and a green stone at each end. These stones are too clear to be emeralds, and I hesitate to call them green garnets (as these stones are more expensive than diamonds), though they may well be, or they could be glass. Anyway. this ring is unmarked but tested 18 carat gold, with a lovely split shank. It is a size 5 and 1/2, but could be sized by someone who specializes in working with antique jewelry. The band itself, with the stones, is 1/4 of an inch wide. This looks very pretty on the finger, and has a lot of sparkle!
