Antique Large Samson Hancock Flow Blue Platter Pattern "Richmond"

This fabulous Flow Blue Platter was made by Sampson Hancock and Sons. The blue stamp crown mark under the glaze was used by Sampson Hancock 1906-1912. The English company was in business from 1857 to 1937. This Large Flow Blue Platter measures 17" x 13 1/2". The pattern "Richmond " is a beautiful floral design with lots of scrolls. The platter has a nicely scalloped border. Notice how the lovely floral pattern extends into the well of the platter. A banner under the crown mark says it is Opaque China, another word for earthernware.

The condition is wonderful for its age. Only two minor under the rim chips. They do not show from the front. Slight utensil marks and two small gaze pops. This Flow Blue Platter is a beauty ready to be admired on your wall or buffet.
