Quimper Odetta Art Deco Stoneware Pottery Vase

This lovely gres stoneware enameled pottery vase is marked HB Quimper Odetta. The French factory, HB, was also known as Grande Maison, de la Hubaudière. HB began producing this line of stoneware in 1922 and exhibited it at the 1925 Arts Décoratifs exhibition, when Art Deco was the rage.

This hand painted piece was produced between 1922 to 1942 based on the mark. It features an Art Deco geometric diamond design with white enameling. The number on the left designates the form and the number on the right the decor. The incised g indicates it is a gres piece which was also produced in faience. The g mark was placed there to assure the right firing temperatures were used, as faience pieces required different temperatures for firing.

This little vase measures 4.5" tall and is about 4.25" in diameter at the widest part. It is in excellent condition.
