This gorgeous serving piece has a crosshatch incised pattern on the glass bowl. The silverplate holder with ornate floral handles has three hallmarks on the rim. I have not been able to identify them, so I am calling this silverplate. There are 3 squares - the first has a crown, the second looks like a cross or plus sign with tiny marks in each quadrant, the third has a shield with what could be IS, or 13, or 15 in the center. There are no other markings. The lid is heavy. The glass insert is 3" high and 3" in diameter. With the lid on the piece stands 6.25" tall and is about 6.75" wide from handle to handle. I am not sure if it is pressed glass or cut crystal as it does not feel sharp but has crisp lines. The glass jar does not come completely out of the holder. At least I am not willing to try to force it. The server could be used as a sugar bowl, jam or jelly server, or a small biscuit jar.
