This fantastic extra large Treasure Jest box by Harmony Kingdom was produced in 1995 as an event piece for the Primordial Crooze Event they sponsored. The box, model number TJXXLTU, was designed by artist Peter Calvesbert and produced in England. The release date was 12/1/1995. It was retired on 4/1/1999. The box is heavy and measures 5.51 x 5.08 x 5.51 inches. The box can be found in the Price Guide to Contemporary Collectibles and Limited Editions by Mary L. Seiber.
According to the Harmony Kingdom Internet site , the meaning behind the box is this: "This box figurine is based on the Iroquois creation myth in which Great turtle invites his fellow turtles to dive to the bottom of the sea in order to gather earth to place upon his back. This piece is covered with hundreds of turtles, one wearing a ribbon reading, "Linford," for the British athlete Linford Christyie, and another a pendant with, "ZH" for Zoe Heller, a famous British journalist. "NOEL," for Noel Wiggins, is carved into a turtle shell. The mouse can be found on the top of the box, near the turtle that has unique taste in jewellery. Two other mice are hidden as well. Inside the box figurine is the planet Saturn, stars, a crescent moon, comet, a large turtle shell with number "48" (Peter's address), and footprints leading to a manhole. Hallmarks include apple, clock face with month 12, HBC logo, and Pc." It's not mentioned in the description, but there is one lone cat buried in the bottom of the sea of turtles.
The box comes in its original dark green round presentation box. There is no paperwork with it, however.
