Royal Crown Derby Sleeping Kitten Imari Paperweight

This beautiful bone china cat hand painted in the Imari style with hand applied 22 K gold detailing was produced in 1992 by Royal Crown Derby. The cat called Sleeping Kitten is in excellent condition with only one small dark spot on the gold detailing around the neck. It measures 3" long, 2" wide and 1.75" tall. The bottom has the Royal Crown Derby English Bone China metal stopper and the crown mark in red with LV below which stands for 1992. The artist's initials (dj) are also present. Royal Crown Derby began producing these paperweights in 1981. They were an instant hit and have become highly collectable. This particular cat would make an excellent companion to the Tom Cat I have listed. This piece is listed in the Price Guide to Contemporary Collectibles and Limited Editions. No box available.
