This elegant, long, 18 karat gold chain is circa 1890. It is designed with a continuous line of love knot motifs.
It has a warm, beautiful patina and retains the French guarantee stamps for 18 karat.
The chain has an impressive weight of 57.5 grams and is connected at either end by a spring ring and dog clip. These enable the chain to have several ways it can be worn. Either a double or triple length is beautiful and attach a pendant of choice for additional interest. The diameter of the knot is 7.5 mm.
It is among the loveliest I have sold. These long chains (sautoirs) are so difficult to find as most have been divided or shortened through the years.
Condition is excellent.
This can be worn casually with jeans and tee shirt or for dress. Simply beautiful and always in style.
